Not so fast Santa !!! We have to give thanks first!
As you may have already noticed, a lot of people (stores actually) are talking about Christmas and gifts. But what some of the may have forgotten, especially outside the U.S., is that Thanksgiving Day comes first.
Being surrounded by many teenagers due to my job I came to notice most of them did not even know this holiday existed. I was about to talk about Indians and pilgrims to some of them, when it hit me. Do I know what thanksgiving is about? Do YOU???
Even though history is important and necessary I believe that there is more to it. I have an amazing mother, a great dad, a cute little brother, my friends, my health, my job and many other things, Isn’t that enough to take one minute every day feel grateful for all that has happened to you? I think it is, and I don’t think it is necessary to wait for Thanksgiving Day to do that, let’s do it with a nice dinner on thanksgiving, but let’s be grateful everyday. Sometimes all you need to do is give a hug or a kiss to express how grateful you are. So that is what I told my teenage friends, we celebrate thanksgiving 365 days a year, how? Well every time you wake up in your bed is reason enough.
