Bunny Who?
Easter is a big religious holiday in Peru; however, it is celebrated differently than in most countries. Being Peru a very religious country, Easter is an official holiday. This year it will be celebrated during the second week of April (April 9 to April 16), being the most important days Thursday and Friday; usually these two days people don’t work, children don’t go to school, families stay home and reflect on various topics.
As some customs are different, there is not such a thing as Easter eggs or bunnies in Peru, although a lot of people are aware of what those are. Another tradition is that people do not eat meat during Friday; fish is the favourite during those days.
